Baguette
What is baguette or plastic mouldings?
Plastic mouldings is a smooth and shaped bar bracket used for frames, picture, mirror, photo cornices and other graphic works production as well used in the building.
Mouldings amaze your imagination with their variety. Artistic value of the items made of moulding is mainly defined by the quality of moulding profile and relief drawing. It stands out with its variety. Any work of art can be worn in the unique “chemise”, made of different wood types, with bronze or varnished covering and any possible ornaments. Hardwood mouldings are often varnished and sometimes polished. Hardwood types are bronzed or various opaque coverings are used. The front side of the frame is covered by a special clearcole (glue and whiting mixture) in several layers before bronze powder is applied.
Picture frame should always be harmoniously combined with the picture in its colour and decorative finishing. At the same time it shouldn’t distract attention from the picture itself but complement and decorate it.

According to the material used in moulding production the following groups are distinguished:
Hardwood mouldings. Such wooden types possess dense cellular structure (oak, cherry, apple, walnut trees etc.). This moulding type isn’t so exposed to temperature changes and high humidity which significantly prolongs its service life (it doesn’t twist). Generally, it’s easier to work with hardwood moulding then with the softwood one though it’s more expensive.
Softwood mouldings. Pine is one of the most often used materials in the given group. Uneven wood quantity, big amount of husks and softness of the structure make the moulding look very naturally. It costs cheaper though isn’t that easy to work with and storage.
Plastic mouldings. It’s one of the most practical, economical and widely used materials for documents, diplomas and picture framing.
Aluminium mouldings. They are mainly used in cases when one needs a big and very solid moulding (big sized thin frame with glass). Such moulding is irreplaceable when you need solid unobtrusive frame (for example, big sized thin frame with glass). Complicacy in handling and relatively high price are main disadvantages of the aluminium mouldings.
Polystyrene mouldings. Its one of the most popular moulding types nowadays. Many customers can’t distinguish polystyrene from the wood. The price of this moulding type is in several times lower ten the wooden one.
